The availability of a number of reception rooms gives the residents the opportunity to watch television in the communal living room, have more privacy to read or watch television in the sunroom and also provides a space for the daily activities that take place.

Each person is welcome and encouraged to take part in the activities and to give input but everyone’s decision is respected if they wish not to take part.

 Activities include:

Movie evenings
Extend exercise classes with a qualified occupational therapist
Bingo afternoons
Light exercise games (bowling, ball games)
Hairdressing facilities
Karaoke
Arts and crafts
Gardening
Music and singing
Visit from Jamie and Holly from Peta (pet therapy)

An outside terrace provides the residents with a sun trap to sit and enjoy the weather on sunny days, look onto the stunning view of Killiney Hill and admire the beautifully tended gardens that surround them.

Visitors are welcome all throughout the day and encouraged to come and spend as much time as possible with their relatives and friends whether it be popping in for a cup of tea or to take part in the activities with us.

Parties are held for special occasions such as Birthdays. Each Christmas we host a Christmas party which everyone is encouraged to attend. It brings everyone together and allows people to get to know one another. This contributes to the close family feel of Dalkey Lodge.
